Routine Wisdom Tooth Extractions

Wisdom tooth extractions are procedures commonly performed by our doctors. Located in the back corners of the mouth, wisdom teeth often are impacted, cause pain or infection, and not necessary for normal function. We begin screening for wisdom tooth extractions in the early teen years, using advanced diagnostic imaging. The ideal timeframe for most cases of wisdom tooth extractions is when patients are between the ages of 17 and 21. Removing problematic wisdom teeth during this time in a patient’s life offers a faster healing response and reduces the risk of oral complications.
